Air suspension and 18" rims

Hey guys,

So about 6 months ago I decided to stick on some old 18" Range Rover vogue alloys (my old td5 had 18" and I prefer the look). All pretty straightforward (other than sourcing the right wheel nuts), but noticed the air suspension would randomly start dropping all the way down after a period of time parked up. Now it seems to happen almost every time I park. I haven't yet checked for leaks etc (plan to this weekend) but i wondered whether the problem could somehow be related to the ride height sensors and the extra 2" diameter from the rims? I would assume that it doesn't make a blind bit of difference, but perhaps the resting height has a default and it just gets a bit confused?

Any thoughts welcome..

Std ride height is 473mm +- 15mm , from wheel ctr to the bottom edge of the wheel arch.

Wheel diameter should make no difference to this. Sounds like searching for leaks is a good plan.

IMO the rims have nothing to do with the dropping while parked ... i'd replace both bags and get done with it, usually other than bag leaks would occur all the time not just after it was parked

+1 ^^^^

Just when you've convinced yourself that it's not the air bags ........ it'll be the air bags.
Change them first as last, and change them as a pair.
I run both 16" and 18" rims at various times of the year. The overall diameters are very similar, the difference in rim diameters is taken up by the profile or sidewall height of the tyres.
 
Thanks for the advice.. new pair of bags ordered! The thing that had me scratching my head was seeing both sides going down (you don't expect a leak on both sides at at the same time), but then I read that the system will usually level itself out, which makes total sense..
