Hello,

Is it acceptable to have ANY air in my fuel filter housing at all? Every time that I slacken the bleed nipple on top of the canister housing there is usually a small flurry of bubbles. I have replaced the pickup pipe as well as the fuel line to the lift pump. The lift pump is also new but there is still a little air getting into the filter from somewhere. Surely there shouldn't be any air full stop? Could the filter housing be leaking?

could the pickup pipe in the tank could be drawing in air? its not always submersed with the diesel always sloshing about

It can't be the pickup pipe. It sits about 5mm off the bottom of the tank and I'm always at least half full. The pickup pipe and the pipe to the lift pump are both new too. It could be the pipe between the lift pump and the filter but that's newish too, with new copper washers. Hmmm
