Just done a service and found a very waterlogged air filter with a big chunk missing due to the arch linner falling off.bin to the breakers and sorted the arch linner.any cause for concern?.

I would think maybe yes, but if the engine is still running ok I'd say just remove the air inlet hose to the turbo and see if there is any debris caught up in the turbo vanes, spin the turbo with your finger, if there is nothing caught up within the hose or turbo and it's still running ok you have been very fortunate.
I would be concerned about the turbo and engine digesting water and or dirt/dust, but if it is still happily running you have dodged the bullet, it may shorten the life of the engine but then you can't help bad luck.

Think I will strip down and clean the whole intake and clean the maf sensor.as for no engine damage think I may have a bit of piston slap loud when cold and can hear it when warmed up but a not so loud...oh well just have to see how it goes thanks for the advice.

I hardly think a bit of cardboard cut into millions of bits by the turbo fan is going to cause piston slap. :D

Oh I agree but the problem is if the water has got into the compression chamber in any real amount like a big puddle it will not compress and will damage an engine or even kill it.
