Hello All,

I have just returned from Halfords who very kindly checked my system for leaks (of which there are non), so they refilled and it still doesn't work. So they've suggested it's either the pressure sensor or pump...is that the possible answers? Does the collective knowledge have any more ideas? Are these things that I can myself with no knowhow?

BTW I'm pretty new to all of this and would welcome tips and support, if anyone needs pictures I can do that as well..

Halfords leak checks are not always accurate. Have you got the aircon switched on? Light off on the button.
Is the compressor drive belt in place? Compressor do not fail that often, so look at the fuses for the aircon.

So all the lights are on but no one seems to be home. It does feel like it's trying to make a difference...so I put the car on Max * and it makes a lot of noise, so internally it all seems to light up. I will check the belt on the compressor (once I find it)

So I’ve found the ac compressor and it runs when the ac is turned on...well a belt is running and it appears to be whizzing around.

So, check the fuses, the belt always runs but the compressor has an electrically operated clutch that needs to operate for the compressor to run.

Ok so found two fuses in glove box. A 10amp and 7.5amp. Checked both (nearly lost the 7.5) and they both appear totally normal.

Does it say there are for the aircon? There are shed loads of fuses in an L322, I do not know the details. you do not state the year of your car, but for earlier ones you can find all the fuse functions and layout in RAVE, but you should have the owners handbook which will also give all the fuse information.

Oops sorry i have a 2004 L322. Fuse diagram attached
So I checked 12 and 34

Sadly I don’t have handbook with the car. So I downloaded something off the net. It seems pretty ok but is the American handbook.

Download RAVE. That fuse list mentions "Garage Door Opener" which doesn't exist on UK cars, so it may not be accurate.
Saint V8 is your man for the L322, I avoid them like rabid dogs.

I’m not sure about your model but the p38 air con lights on when the system is off and off when the system is on cockeyed system
