If its got the correct gas and it all seems to run as it should, it could be the expansion valve. if you can find it "tap it"
Ours (L322) was initially diagnosed as compressor, but it was intermittent. After watching live data on our IID, the compressor was fine and it turned out to be the expansion valve.
As said earlier diagnostics is the easiest way forward but be carful they don't replace expensive bits that don't need to be replaced.

Yes is turning constants
The outer part of the pulley always turns, the eletrically operated clutch has to operate for the inner part to turn, easy to be fooled.
I don't know your car, but on the P38 it's a case of knowing where to look. If you locate the electrical connector for the clutch, you could put a meter across it to check that there is voltage to activate the clutch. Just a thought, on the P38 when the aircon light is on, the aircon is switched off, Land Rover logic, could be the same on yours?
