so I had a knackered tensioner pulley for the air con belt,
Replaced it and it seemed OK for a few days, now I've got a whine and a strange almost click/knocking Both of which went away for a short time with a generous helping of wd40
The pulley turns freely as does the compressor, the only movement I can find is a very small amount of play if I pull the compressor pulley backwards and forwards, but it's only a very small amount, could this be causing me an issue?

A noise like that on my Transit went when I replaced the belt.

Could be the compressor clutch on its way out.

Don’t think the clutch is engaging,
Fitted the pulley but not had time to get it recharged and I believe if it needs recharging the compressor won’t try to engage.
At any rate it makes no difference if the button is pressed or not
