Air Con Pipe Rubbing

Hello All,
Ive Got An 03 Td4 Just Bought It,had A Good Look Under The Bonnet As You Do...lol,
Noticed That The Air Con Pipe(think Its That)was Rubbing Against The Dip Stick Tube At The Front Of The Engine,
It Runs Across The Front Of It,had Rubbed Quite A Bit Off The Outer Coating, Cured It By Wrapping A Few Turns Of Elec Tape Over It And Pulling It Away A Little,

Hi jiffy and welcome, yes youve done the correct thing ,had a look at mine,and yes you should have a bit of clearance or it will cause damage see if ya can get a bit of clearance,try ta move it a jiffy [titter] best oh luck. . .

hi jiffy i've tried brass rubbing once but never air con pipe rubbing. it is the same kinda thing. i gotta ask, as ming is dying to know, if your name is jiffy would that make yer missus' jiffy bag'? i'll get me coat.

i think this covered a few weeks back when someone had A/C trouble .; was it lrguy that stated the fact that this pipe can rub?

Just had another look and the aircon pipe on mine is about an inch away of the dipstick tube, what I had and did was that another small tube just around the same area was touching the square aluminium piece in front of the engine, it was already getting a mark in it so I put a piece of gardenhose around and now it's allok.

Just Checked My Pipe As Per Youre Photo,
Mine Has A Plastic Cover Fitted To It To Stop It Wearing Yours Dosent Seem To Have It Fitted,
Also The Starter Motor Lead Just To The Right Of The Pipe You Showed Has A Plastic Covering Too It Comes Pretty Close To The Starter Motor Housing And Could Wearif You Dont Have This Covering
