Air Con making a very (very) high pitched noise

Well done Wammers. The UV light shows a leak from the top left hand side of the condenser.

Go and see matron for an extra bit of tuck.

I'm going to get a new condenser ad fit it, and change all the O rings on the system whilst I'm at it.

Is there a condenser manufacturer to avoid like with the radiators? And am I going to run in to seized joints that will strip my threads whilst I take them apart, and require me to buy new hoses like with the oil coolers?

Anyone done this before?
Lots of folks have done it before including me, piece of cake, pipes come off OK, slam plate and grill off, no need to drop the bumper as described in RAVE.

Top left hand side of condenser looking from front of car would be favourite leak point. If it is leaking and you get a new one, spray this area with alloy wheel paint or silver HT exhaust paint.

Why do they go in the top corner Wammers?

I've got some silver alloy wheel paint funnily enough, just stripped and painted the forks from my bike.

Don't know but that is the favourite place to look if you have a leak. More exposed maybe. Alloy paint should protect it somewhat.

Changed it this weekend.

I bought the Hella one from Island 4x4, it came painted black! I hope that doesn't affect the cooling capacity.

An easy job, the hardest bit was filing the holes for the mounting brackets out a bit as it didn't fit straight out of the box.

Anyway, hopefully get it charged up today and cool air will result.

Black dissipates heat better. Ever wondered why motorcycle cylinders are painted black? :);)
