Freelander 1 Air Con Compressor - can't remove pulley

Despite reading all related threads including tips on screwing in a bolt to the pulley and pulling - I have failed !!!
Bearing is gone, noisy and wobbly pulley. Removed end bolt o.k. Fitted large screw in bolt, pulled, gently levered, tapped, bashed, belted. No pulley removal !!

So I guess it is a new pump??

Just thought I'd check if anyone had a novel way. I guess that the corrosion that has done the bearin in has also made the pulley and shaft become one !!
 
A bit of carefully applied heat might work but be careful as the compressor could explode. I did the pulley on my D3 AC compressor and it was easy, it just levered off. The bearing was the tapped out and a new one tapped in. However it was only 8 years old at the time.
 
The inner section of the pulley is located on a spline at the end of the compressor shaft, it's probably rusted on.
Give it a good dose of Plus Gas or other penetrating fluid not WD 40 which is useless at freeing rusted parts, and leave it overnight at least.
A 3 legged gear puller should shift it

Hi Tony...Yes, it's been a long time Bud.
Obviously been sorting things out and having to learn domestic skills at my age is quite challenging to say the least !!
Doing okay though and getting back into the swing of things.

Yep washing up can be a right pain in the butt. Hope things are as ok with you as they can be. Keep going mate. ;);)
