after all the work will be finished on me 90 i have the forms to get an agreed valuation..im wiv lancaster

they want 6 outside pics 3 inside and 1 of the enjin bay and a list of the modifications they then want me to put a value on it and they will either agree or disagree..

anyone gone about the agreed value thing b4?

how the hell do i put a value on it?
if i had to replace it with summit of similar spec and the now fully refurbed and resprayed condition i would be lucky to find one..

obviuosly its worth a lot more to me than the insurance company

any advice on how to proceed and how to deal with the insurance company

yeh but i dont want just the book value

when my dads(im not with fluxy) insurance renewal came through he had that sheet your on about, im sure he rang them up,have no idea what he sed, but all they think i imagine is oh an old landrover 1966 only worth 500 quid those documents are to show its worth more i imagine:confused:, im not sure what he sed to them but he never sent them of as im reading them now:p

i spose its good in a way tbh stops people not declaring engine mods etc all insurrance companys will soon make that a standard thing i recon:doh: i hope not anyway:p

Years ago i rebuilt an early 90, galv chassis, 200tdi, metalic paint, everything was galv or stainless, cost me a fortune. Had it valued by a 3rd party company, they valued it at 12k, sent me the report which i forwarded onto the insurance company. I think it cost me £150 for the valuation.

if you don't fill them out they give the book value, which will be bugger all!! i have done this 5 years running on my other car as its worth around £2500 but has a book value of £200!!

think how much you would sell it for. which in turn would show how much a replacement would be. when you think of a price add a grand or two. as an example i would try for £2500 on my landy even though it is worth more like £1500. if you think it will cost £6000 for a replacement then say that. and a bit more to personalise it.

do not forget to do the valuation though or you will regret it.

cool...thanks for that..when everythings put back together i will do the paperwork and pics and then x fingers and send it all off

I had agreed value with flux on mine. When I bought it I paid 4500 so that's the value that we agreed when I listed the mods and provided the set of pictures. Was not contested.

Have spent much more since including exmoor trim lock and fold seats which come in at about 1400 but when I came to renew policy this year I had to add business cover and they said I couldn't have the agreed value any more. no other companies would even insure it because of 3 inch lift and all the mods I declared. So not much choice.

Im with Aidrian Flux and i had to send in pics to agree a price!

Seemed like a bit of a farce but turned out to be easy enough

Take pictures, lots of them, send them to the ins co and more important, keep a copy on yer pc and ex hard drive...if it disappears you have something to use as proof of value. I do this with all my vehicles...saves a LOT of bother!

Storms right there, MAKE SURE you keep copies.
Also, print off a set of pics and the full spec, sign and date them along with a copy of the agreed valuation, seal them in an envelope and post them back to your own house. Don't open it and keep it in a safe place, that way you have everything sealed and dated by the royal mail should there ever be a problem if you have an accident/it's nicked. means the insurance company are less likely to dispute.
