Aftermarket Steering Wheel

Pics attached - and yes - that isn't a Freelander... but it is a Freelander Column.
Steering wheel is in the post, but boss fits 6x70mm PCD and 6x74mm PCD wheels, so the choice is pretty much limitless.

Ian.

Ok, so here we are. I've bought both a cheap £25 steering wheel boss and an expensive Momo boss. Both are supposed to be for the Mgf/TF. The Momo does not slide down the column enough - although it is supposedly specifically for the Mgf/TF and Rover/MG's like ZT etc. Model number K4928.
Now, I've been on the MG/Rover forums and there is a general consensus that the Momo needs some modification - regardless of being specific to the vehicles. Seems a right load of hassle for something that's supposed to be the correct part.
The cheap £25 job fits all the way. HOWEVER - neither will work with the Freelander set-up as the indicator cancel hub is different from the normal Rover/MG type. See pics.

Here's the indicator canceler on both the Freelander and MG - although note the MG has Freelander stalks fitted.

There was somthing on the mg forums about there being two different styles of cancelling...

If you look at both boss , neither one has the canceler in the same position as the Freelander steering wheel when the wheel is at "straight ahead" position .

The hippo (as much as it pains me to say it) has more in common with the mg/rover group vehicles ie the 200/400/25/45 ang mg variants than a traditional Land Rover. That's why they drive so nicely and car like.
