My wife's 56 reg Freelander 1 cigarette lighter fuse keep blowing, any ideas on how to solve this? Any advice would be really appreciated!!

Its an inbuilt self destruct method !

ok, as a new poster, try making an introduction as to who/what/where you are.

the gaylander of your wife has its own section on LZ,
so suggest you have a look in there.

but use common sence wiv yer problem, as the op sez, diconect the lighter fer starters, look fer other things running on the lighter curcuit also.
(wiring diagramme/car handbook/online in LZ?)

fuses of the wrong value can blow easily, but fuses are there to protect/prevent electrical fires!!!!!!

you wiring being shorted out without a correct fuse rating will let glow like an electric fire until it glows nicely....

Stick a nail in the gap, as the others have said it will get nice and warm then set the gaylander alight, light your fag off that or alternatively has she been putting her fags straight into the socket? Because they won't light that way

Have a look and see if anything has dropped inside it, had a Fiat once with a 1p piece in the socket and it fused every time she tried to use it. Even Fiat couldn't figure it out :D
