Thats illegal and an MOT fail for more than one reason, 1. not vertical 2. incorrect font 3. incorrect letter/number spacing. Pop it down i'll do a propper MOT on it for ya  ;) :D

this is how i have managed to fit it !!

cheers for all the info aswell guys

Looks good. Did you put a plate across the back incase hit anything or is it just 2 brackets?

oldskool I used have a set of US sized pressed metal plates on my old jeep cherokee. I did change them come mot time. Never had a prob in Dover with them. So many foreign motors drive through town, my plates looked Belgun. Lol. Did get tugged in Ashford, he just told me to change them.So stuck UK rear on and that was it

i have designed it so the air filters around the winch and into the rad hahaha (honstely) lol

and its just two brackets one each side seems fairly secure and strong soon find out tho lol

Just mind them low flying phesants.
Me being me I would have got import plate and bolted it to the bar beside the winch, so as not to restrict the air flow to the rad. Having said that it may help in water by diverting the water away from the rad?

so the 3 independant garages are wrong for using common sense then:rolleyes:

im sure in the big scheme of things a number plate isnt a hanging offence most mot testers use common sense, some are people with nothing better to do than scrutinise a vehicle and only find a number plate, but hey if they wanna waste there time failing an mot on a number plate issue that isnt an issue and then have to waste there time doing a free retest when they could be carrying out paid work fair play to them

the letters are spaced correctly and the font is not alterd in any way.

3 mots and none mentioned the number plate

Whats common sence got to do with anything were talking about VOSA here a government agency , i didn't say i would fail it, i said it is a failable item, that no. plate IS illegal.

Perhaps where you come from plod arn't to bothered about no. plates over this side of the country they like nothing more than giving out a fine for it.

dont tell me tell the 3 different mot testers that passed it,it cant be that wrong and it didnt fail:p
Me mate sent his motor through a MOT at kwok fit the other day, with italics and play boy bunny gubbins and incorrect spacing. He told his missus to get em to change the number to the pucker one, but she forgot. Sailed striaght through. Still dodgy, still a fail.If they missed simple stuff like that wot else did they miss?

Not enough proffit on a no. plate :D supprised they didn't knock it on the tyres/brakes and/or dampers (shock absorbers for the peeps that don't know any better :D) though thats what they normally fail them on :D

i think were all missing the biggest point..

when you take your landy/rr for an mot your dreading the fail sheet so when it passes its obviously met the mot standards..as for the num plate who gives a fcuk its passed i dont care, its due another mot in 4 weeks time so will see if it passes on the num plate AGAIN;)
