Hi, just joined yesterday having come across the site doing a google search for a problem I have with my Freelander.

So first of all - hi every one.

I have a problem with my rear door. It won't open at all, not even with the key. The window won't open either and when I lock the car the alarm beeps as if something is open.

Has anybody else had this problem or does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do.

Thought I'd try this before I went through the expense of going to a garage as I am ready having to go through the expense of getting the side resprayed as someone keyed it

Thanks in advance

It's 3 door.

I did do a search and came up with some stuff but to me it was like reading war and peace in chinese - all very technical

I'll see if I can decipher some of it later when I've had by quota of coffee.

As MHM says it sounds like a sensor, could be " roof on sensor " (3 door only) a faulty or disconnected latch assembly. By the way if alarm horn sounds when you lock vehicle, this is called a " mislock " and is telling you door is not shut properly ( back to Mad hat mans answer ) which could be a connector adrift.

Er toot can mean a=battery fob is on way out [change batterys] b= a door is not shut [or yer rear window is in wrong possition] un as said if 3 door the roof switch has not made. . . .after fitting new fob battery ,go through the power down reset procedure [ta reset the phooker] un remember this golden rule earthlings. . . . .niffer drive yer gaylander int wet [yer doors cum orft]. . . .quote from tratter boys wind up manwell [snort]. . . .:) :) :)
