Has anyone tried one of these at any time ? My metal one rotted for fun, and I grudge spending on a Safari one.

I have heard that the cheaper safari copies are easier to break after contact with tree branches and the like as they’re less flexible.

And some insurance companies don’t like snorkels as they assume you are taking the vehicle wading…

Do you really need it 🫣 ?

Think man! Without one how else do you run all the cables up to the roof lights you don’t need!

I got my original mushroom top one galvanised and am planning on doing the same with the one for the station wagon. I just need a new tube as the one I bought at the auto jumble someone has screwed the mounting bracket to halfway up so there are a set of holes which somewhat defeats the point of a snorkel! Might see if I can weld up the holes first though.

This. Raised axle, gearbox/txfr box and engine breathers taken to top of bulkhead are more important then the snorkel. Recommend buying the Gwyn Lewis kit as this will get you safely through 600mm of water without a snorkel.
Does any one do a breather kit for the fuel tank?
