Looking and deciding what to do over the next 12 months to me fender, and I do fancy a winch, it makes gardening easier :)

Besides the obvious winch, and bumper and associated wiring, what else do I need

Noticed I'm developing a little landy lean, so the springs might be passed their best, so, do I need uprated/HD ones for the front, don't want to go with a lift, was aiming on adding longer shocks to give a bit more articulation at stock height.

also, whats all this with winch pulls being in lb?? I've looked but not found a guide, what pull would I need for a 110CSW??

I don't do full on off road, just greenlanes, thinking of a bit more, but dont want to be unequipped.

of course, plans can change depending on other breakdowns :) but its nice to have a plan :)

There are loads of the threads on here about suspension and with more articulation at standard height. I would say for a 110 you want to be looking at at least 10,000lb winch. As I found out from putting new suspension on mine (standard height) then they are supposed to lean a bit (higher on the right for weight of driver, fuel tank and transfer box). 110 springs are a bit stiffer than those found on a 90 so you might be ok with standard springs. If it doesn't work out you can always sort it once the winch is on and you've had a chance to use it. Avoid crap winches.

nope, mines starting to lean TO the right without the driver, all mounts etc are ok, so presume saggy springs.

had a look at winches, the price difference between the crappy ones and lower end decent ones (thinking superwinch) isnt that great to fart about with cheap tat.

the articulation bit is sorted (on what I need anyway), just thinking if I needed different for a winch, dont want to be changing/spending twice.

You will want HD springs with a winch on the front.

Agreed. Especially as you will need a heavier duty bumper for your newly acquired winch.

Also, if it was my money, i would go with the 'Goldfish' over the superwinch or the champion(now warrior) range. just my opinion.

Similar price and the goldfish from David Bowyer has rave reviews and is waterproof as well.

Think thats what ill be getting next if i dont go warn or husky.

possibly stoopid question alert.

Do I need a mounting plate for a winch, alot of them say excludes winch tray, as the winch may be being mounted to winch bumpers, or exisisting installations.

I had in my head, you had the winch bumper, basically a decent strength bumper wiv a hole in it, then a tray/mounting plate attached to the chassis to take the load?? ot does the winch bumper take the load, seems alot on 4 bolts.

Im confuzzled :confused::confused::confused:

nicely, cheers.
Got me bumper picked out, a couple of winches in the short list, springs & shockers priced up, decision of brand to follow (blue box parts already disregarded :) )

now to find the ££ :)

I used ws4x4 for wires. Cut the lengths I wanted and then put connectors on. Found a 300A isolator switch to put on the live that will take the stick.
