Hi.
I've spent the afternoon replacing my pipe seals on the front of the ace block.
I've been putting it if because of all the bad stories on here and other forums regarding how tricky it is. Anyway, I had nothing else to do today so decided to give it a go. I had bought 4 seal kits a while back and read up everywhere to get as much info as possible. I have to say it all went surprisingly well. Everything came out and went back in relatively easily and I was feeling pretty pleased with myself as I was filling up the resovoir. But I should have realised that nothing is really that simple.
The fluid was literally pouring/spurting out after starting the engine.
Can somebody give me some ideas as to what I have done wrong? As I said, the old seals came out easily and the new ones went in easily. Just a couple of taps with a hammer as per the instructions. The pipes are in good condition and were not hard to get back in so they were not forced. It's like there is no seal at all on the bottom pipe.
I'm going to have to take it all apart again tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone here has had similar problems and managed to resolve them.
Any help will be gratefully received.
