Happy new year, I went to use my 12v air pump on my 2004 L322 V8 and as soon as I plugged it in it blew the circuit. I thought no problem just replace the fuse, the manual said it was fuse 71 in the rear compartment a 20amp but that was fine when I checked it, is there another fuse that i am missing as i cannot see anything else mentioned in the owners manual. Thanks.

Yes it is the first fuse on the left, my book was calling it fuse71. Did you put the original type relay back in so its permanently live and that sorted it. Thanks.

looking at RAVE fuse 7 may be involved

Just an update I checked both the fuses for these circuits and both were good. I had fitted the relay that makes the accessory sockets live only when the ignition is on so I swopped it over to the original two pin relay and it's working again but constantly live but I can live with that for now.

@shunter v8 I think that 2 pin relay is just a link in a relay box. Both my fuses were ok as well and I got fed up of looking at it so I just put the link back.
This is what I have on my relay socket but can't find where they are fed from

That makes perfect sense what you are saying, when I removed the other relay it was warm and I opened it up just for a look but all seemed fine. I think I will do the same as you and live with it permanently live. Thanks again for all your help.

The first thing I did was swap the relay, well after the fuse anyway:) Not too bothered now cos I've put a switched 3 way socket in with USB ports as well.
Now I'm getting my head round the electrical section of RAVE I'll do some more digging when I get a chance.

That would be great as I did like the switched sockets rather than the permanently live. Its all very weird though as I was sure it had blown a fuse.

The plot thickens as I have one of luxury landrovers second battery kits fitted I have a battery drain that nobody can find over here, the kit works very well until the accessory sockets blew, I checked the system over and found the switched live to the relay was dead this is a green wire in the trailer socket behind the right hand cover in the boot. My manual shows four fuses for the trailer socket 1x15amp 1x20amp and 2x50amp I have checked them and they are all good.

Backinblack you are a genius that's exactly what is was, I have power to the second battery kit and the accessory socket is working again on the ignition. A massive thank you for your help with this one it was driving me crazy.

@shunter v8 your welcome but you did most of the work tracing the feed, I'd better check mine now. Then try and work out how that relates to the accessory relay, unless the trailer relay energises the accessory relay  I need mine live anyway now as I have a solar panel plugged into it.

Not at all it was you that solved the problem, I did try the solar charger and it plugged in to the diagnostic socket but it still threw up errors on start up if I did not use it every day that's why I tried the second battery kit and that solved all my problems.

I have a second battery as well but it only feeds the sockets in the boot but I have some long jump leads just in case. The solar charger doesn't seem to be doing much but I only got it a couple of days ago so I need to give it a chance. I had a 20w one on in summer but have upgraded to a 60w folding one, only trouble is it's too bloody long so I can only have 3 sections open giving 45w

That's very posh, I had a few teething problems with mine but I got great support from the supplier who sorted out the issues with a new part to the loom and it's been great. Thanks again for your help with this problem.
