It’s an early version and is expecting to see compressor clutch current. Later models ignore the current and trigger the relay.

It depends if the relay wiring has a load resistance to fool the control circuit.

If your VIN is later then someone swapped the correct panel probably due to LCD issues.

Mine has no relay but later panel. All the info is in that other thread.

JFC102550 covers all models with heated seats as does JFC102540 without heated seats, but that is no longer available. They will run the aircon with or without relay 3. There at one time was a wiring kit to incorporate relay 3 but no longer available and for what it was cost a bloody fortune. But anyone with a bit of nous should be able to look at 1999 and on wiring diagrams and rig relay 3 in. Wire from Hevac to relay 3 pull side and ground. 20 amp feed to relay 3 power side and to compressor, simples.

Simple when you know how!

Fortunately i know how. But no need, on mine it does not have relay 3 but it does have JFC102550 that runs the aircon without problems. Because it is designed to replace ALL previous models. I also have a replacement one to fit if anything goes wrong. But i don't think it will, the one fitted has been running aircon for over ten years without a problem.

So quick update using the main dealer method of fault finding the following has been replaced

Dryer
Pressure switch
Tri switch
Interior sensor
Evaporator sensor

Just waiting for the JFC102550 HEVAC panel and then a quick prey to the range rover god's before gassing and firing it up........
