P38A ABS relay type..?

Right then.. so after all this, in the spirit of repairing not replacing, I took the cover off the relay and the thing was full of dust and C###. So cleaned up the contacts, sprayed with contact cleaner and put back on. All works now, brakes function, abs comes on ( really hammered it and abs definitely came on) and no buzzing or pump over running.
I know there will be many drawing of breath and tutting, but I took the chance and so far.. working. I wouldn't do it to any one else's vehicle, but on my head be it. Ready for the onslaught..

Why should there be an onslaught? You have returned the correct unit to working order. The relay is of that quality for a reason as explained earlier. It is fitted to ensure reliability of function.

Nothing wrong with cleaning and resetting relay contacts.

Cheers Gents.. have to admit I was waiting for a round of "you can't do that.!!." "electricary..leave alone". Aaaaagh.. But now hope this gives someone else the info to do the same simple fix in the future.
