How many times did you let the LP pump prime? Do this 2-3 times. I know you have fuel to the injector unions but there still might be an airlock. We're talking thousands of psi here. Watch out for high-pressure diesel though - gloves and goggles.right now i am ****ed off put hp pump on still not firing would it start if the fuel rail pressure sensor was buggerd?

If no go it might be worth pulling the injector pipes in case there's bits of O-ring blocking things.
It's possible the petrol has buggered the injectors too.
EDIT: Are we sure the LP pump is okay?
well ive just been reading diesel bobs page wich says do a pressurised bleed through could this be acheived by using an airline and rag at the filler whils someone turns it over.shame you dont live closer, me and a mate always had the same car.
in situations like this we uaed to swap parts from car to car. put a senser from the poorly car onto the other till the fault transfered.

If the rail pressure sensor is giving a 'high' signal it could be disabling the HP pump output as you say. I don't see how the sensor could have been damaged - it's mainly moving parts that get trashed - but anything's possible.
