Hi; I am new on here so I hope somebody can help me, I am a Police Community Support Officer in West Yorkshire, in our area we have had a number of Defenders broken into.
I am sure some years ago I read about this problem and there was a suggestion that an inline fuse can be fitted that will then blow before the alarm is disabled, but I can't remember where in which circuit it has to be fit.
Can anybody please advise me so I can pass this information onto the Landrover owners in my area?
If you're a community support officer and genuinely want to help, Have you thought about keeping the exact details on how to nick a landy quiet instead of typing them for all to see on a public forum?
I'm all for stopping the theives but your facts are incorrect and what you posted could easily help theives.
Unless you can prove to me that you are who you say you are I aint telling you what you want to know. If you are who you say you are then contact your SVS section and they will let you know how the theives do it.
The best thing you can advise peope is to fit a disclock steering lock and park the vehicle with the wheels on full lock EVERY time they leave the vehicle.
You can alos get your colleagues to pull over EVERY landy they see driving about and also learn what the different models are and how to spot a ringer. Also advise peeps to make hidden marks on their landys cos quite often the police aren't up to the job of iidentifying em.
