Hello,

Should a steering drop arm nut be easier to remove than my crank bolt? I'd be using the perfect size socket on a feck off huge breaker bar. Just the lip that holds the rubber cover has gone that's all and I might as well put a whole new arm on.

Cheers

YES but the drop arm itself will probably need to be 'shocked' off its taper or yanked off with a puller.

Just had the ball joint replaced but the rubber's gone again cos theres no lip on the drop arm for it to hang over.

If i remember correctly there isn't really a lip, just a kind of straight sticking up bit and the rubber is held on by a kind of metal elastic band.
