well, between me and my dad weve got an lj and and a landrover, the offroad toy lj and the offroad toy landy, the lj will win but my offroad landy will beet my dads road going lj at road use and offroad. there my landy does nearly everything my dads modified competition motor (pic attached) does offroad and more onroad than my dads road going lj, on the road.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...............................

I've owned LandRovers, Jeeps, GMC's, and an assortment of other 4x4 vehicles up in the Canadian north. The best offroad 4x4 in factory configuration i have used was a 1979 International Harvester Scout II. Narrow wheel stance was key as it kept the vehicle out of ruts. It also had full leaf suspension so less chance of getting hung up. Had a 345 cubic inch V8 petrol engine with massive torque. Selectable 4x4 with autolocking hubs (mechanical lockers) and limited-slip diff. Could remove the hard-top in the summer. factory setup with A/C, cruise control, massive heaters. I've never seen anything like it in terms of torque and offroad capabilities. Only downside was poor headlights. I used to run it with all-season radial tires just for a challenge in the mud. :)

once me and my brother went upto the local pit one wet winters evening in his rangey classic. got completey bogged down, rang my mate for help and he turned up in a jimny with offroad tyres, i just laughed and said he hasnt got a chance of getting us out, anyway it was our only chance of getting out. so we strapped it up and he was going flat out and we cudnt even feel it tugging, didnt even rock it, he then got stuck on a leaf!!! says it all. utter pile of ****
