I am quite thick skinned but i have to say it did hurt me a little that people thought i was making money off them.

Oh I see, do you offer an EAS rebuilding/diagnostic service then?
I've been quite enjoying methodically going through the system and replacing all the O rings and then trying to figure out how to 'fix' the plungers in the solenoids. Being able to sit at a work bench and just do stuff while catching up on Smiff and Sniff is quite relaxing. Also being a tight so and so with OCD tendencies I like to repair (aka fix them till they are really broken) things rather than replace them all the time.

Not really these days , i mainly like to rebuild valve blocks for people these days.

But suffice to say I do have a bit of previous when it comes to spanners ; got my first car at 13 back in 1987, and we still have it, spent 3 1/2 years restoring it with my dad (marine engineer by training, former blacksmith and panel beater) teaching me, then went to uni to study mechanical engineering, now 22 years as A development engineer/scientist in NDT specialising in X-ray CT. During a career break my hobby tinkering with Subarus (hence the profile pic and user name) became the day job building road to race engines and fettling them at a mates tuning business. Basically if it has wheels and some form of motive power source utilising mechanical advantage then I'm interested...

Was the dreaded rust worm that got it in the endLol yeah, one that was bought because I know it has the towing capacity to recover my 3 Series projects, VW T25 Camper, motorbike, 4 post ramp, lathe, a selection of engines, rather a lot of birmabright and wheels back from near Basingstoke to down here near Tonbridge. I also went for the diesel as I used to run an E39 BMW 530d with the later M57 engine so know what BM diesels are like to work on plus know my Land Rover products quite well. The nearest I've come to owning a Range Rover before would be the Disco 300tdi I bought for its engine.

Dear Lord when do you get time to sleepI think everything I own is an endless task...besides the bits I've got to recover back here, there's also an '87 JCB 3CX I got last summer to maintain and slowly improve, along with the MF65 tractor and Thwaites Nimline Dumper, plus the '68 Mini (the first car) to re-restore, my fast car tuning itch has started again with my daily, the house and 20 acres of field to look after together with keeping an eye on the age'd 'P's (granted my sister and her family live here too so there is a little sharing of load) and raising a 3 year old part time...apparently I also have to fit in something called 'work' on top of trying to get my ex-wife to agree to a settlement and sell my old house after doing it up a bit to pay the settlement
Took us to Europe 4times all over Britain. Was a fantastic beast on and off road, Still miss it. But then again I've always been biased towards a Land RoverIts a shame that they suffer with this issue ,
I had a mate who repanelled all of his, made a lot of the panels himself. Clever so and so he was
