The mud flaps on my series need replacing. Despite previous repairs one of them has now split more than half way across the top. I do Not think this is too bad as they came with the vehicle and I have had it nearly 10 years. I currently have the mud flaps with the yellow Land Rover logo on them. I cannot seem to find a direct replacement but can find them with the black Land Rover logo. I know it makes no differance but I want the yellow logo like my vehicle has always had.
Does anyone know where you can get the original yellow logo set from?
Does anyone have any suggestions for the correct procedure and equipment needed to paint the black on yellow?

Second hand ones are your best bet from eBay. I saw a pair of new old stock ones for sale on eBay a couple of years ago and they were stupid money, you cold nearly buy an entire series 3 for what they were asking.

That's cheap

Only just seen this as I was out buying two gallons of yellow paint. I like going to a little paint shop I know in the Maldives on my 70 meter power yacht. o_O

This was one the reasons I was asking, they are what I want but I am not paying NOS prices for them! I was hoping somewhere was doing repro versions of them

This was the second part of my question, you can buy black repro versions from the usually places (https://www.famousfour.co.uk/new_parts/ff_part?part=20359) which although still not cheap will not break the bank! I just need to work out the best and longest lasting way of painting them yellow.

I’m not into branding as such. In fact I have had more than one car de branded over the years, however I would try the tyre wall paint pens as a first attempt. Not sure of the colour range but designed to adhere to the letters on tyres and as easy to use as a marker pen.
Other than that you could always write it on a scrap of paper and have a quick look when you forget what car you own :p

Tyre wall pens are a good shout. If they don't do yellow use white as a primer then paint. Use your old flaps as a test bed.

It is not so much about the branding, more that is what is has always had (at least in my ownership) and I dislike change.

I will have a look at tyre pens, that is a very good idea, thank you.

I’ve found it impossible to source the one’s you’re referring to. They’re unobtainable. I opted for the plain version.

Thank you for the link, unfortunatly they are far to expensive for what I am looking for. I am going to go with the standard ones and bobsticles recommendation of a yellow tyre pen.
I have to agree with you, that is a far better (and cheaper) option.

Did you ever get your mudflaps? I've just seen these:

The yellow branded versions are unobtainable now. As posted less is more and just fit plain Bly. The branded versions have a different fitting, a larger bracket which is shaped to fit the end of the crossmember. The plain versions are supplied with a shaped finish. The point being you’ll have to cut out the branded versions bracket and fit the angled plain one directly onto the crossmember.

As I understand it the early original ones had recessed letters and the letters were white, later ones had recessed letters and the letters were yellow, the copy ones have/did have raised lettering.
I have some good 2nd hand yellow ones in the loft, and no you cant have them!

What about using a bit of a cheapy flap and repairing/doubling up the split section on the back where no one can see it?
