there's 2 dedicated pins on the white plug of the tv unit labelled reversing camera, and a pin on the blue one that switches the screen to the camera input, 13 and 14 on white 17 on blue to ground to switch

White 13/14 assume is video input
Blue 17 earth switch for screen.

Could rig up a basic relay from the reverse lights +ve to make the earth switch.

Make sure you get the right sort of camera. My Jag wasn't PAL. Cannot remember what it was now. RGB maybe or some variation thereof?

There's a post somewhere of a cheap alternative camera, got to nip out now but a search should find it. There were even some pic's of splicing into the original camera cable but you won't have that.

They are out there, earlier this year the 'bay had them for around £20. Replaced the one on our daily, excellent colour image.
