A/F and trackers...

So, requirement of insurance policy with A/F on new Landy is that I must fit a tracker from a company they recommend, fair enough, i wanted a tracker anyway. Rung them up and they can't fit till next Tuesday, but, my Landy will be ready on Friday, so, ring A/F up to see what "grace period" i get on getting the tracker fitted, by the company they request i use.

I get 30 days - happy days - oh - but wait, during those 30 days my policy doesn't cover theft :doh: - Yeah, right, so, you want me to take delivery of my brand new expensive Landy and not have theft cover on it for 4 days due to the availability of your tracker company "oh but you'll be fine for 4 days" say A/F - yeah if you think so you take the risk and cover me then

6 months left on policy then it will be bye bye A/F for me and my 3 vehicles insured with them.

I will be doing the sensible thing of waiting until next week to collect my landy, but, i'm a bit gutted as i'd planned to go away in it over the bank holiday weekend

when did that get put in their rules?

I rang up yesterday for a quote on an 03 defender and the bloke said it didn't make a difference to the policy if I fitted a tracker or not

Depends on the underwriter, AF are a broker, not an insurer.
