Ok progress, the solar sensor seems to be working ok now, it just wanted me to take it out give it a clean and out it back again for some reason, i did do the light test, but it didn't need it because the SUN IS OUT  so thats working fine

Did the lighter test burnt my fingers!! and nothing happened, but i can live with that, why 2 sensors though? just double the trouble!! if i have to take the whole dash out then it can wait another day, im still waiting for the bulbs for my bloody display to come, i haven't a clue how much the sensor is under the clock though!!

Irish your a top bloke thanks for helping me out m8 :)

The solar sensor detects heat generated by direct sunshine, same as you get in a greenhouse when the air temperature outside can be cooler. The small in car temperature sensor complete with fan costs around £66 from Rimmer-part no.JTF000030.
Hey-less of the praise, my missus says I'm a grumpy old git, like Victor Meldrew!!!!!

Hi all, i ant looked yet and was wondering do you have to re gas when changing the compressor over?

I would say yes!!

Yes pal, you will also need to de gas before you disconnect the old one. When you re gas make sure whoever does it puts the correct amount of oil back in usually 100 - 250ml as most garages only put about 25ml back in, dont think too badly of them the car companies rarely put any in!

The 01.100 Kg is spot on its on top of the slam bar on the landy so i have no problem with that :)

The small fan is working i checked that on the weekend :D

So its either the sensor under the clock or the one on the dash, but what one do i change first thats the question!!

I will do th lighter and torch test 2morrow, like the fool i am i forgot to do them when i was checking it all on the weekend, and as you say, i will call kwik fit 2morrow about the oil

But how do i get oil in the compressor??

It has to be evacuated and refilled again mate, you can only usually add oil just before the refrigerant in phase.

Ok i went to them and they re gassed it for me, all done and i’m a happy bunny

Now i have to get the sensor that’s under the clock, it seems to be the only one that isn't responding to the tests that i have done (always the hardest and pricey one isn’t it??)

Actually to tell the truth i cant wait to take the front apart then i can change the bulbs on the dash the millage reading is dim on the left side on the reading

And i can try and trace the REALLY annoying noise some place behind the radio vents? its like a bloody mosquito buzzing behind the dash, and i keep knocking thumping things, pushing pulling whacking, to stop it, but it just wont go away, its driving me bonkers

Hi Guys,
Been looking through the bearing catalogues at work for an alternative to the Jap. bearing for the pulley. No luck.
If anyone manages to sort out an equivalent can they post the details.
(I have scoured the SKF & FAG catalogues from end to end)

If you give them the Nachi reference and dimensions it's worth a try. Looking in the books here, the stumbling block is the 52mm Outside dia. they are all showing 55mm.
How much extra is the postage on your sensor from the States??

Orders the bit from the stealer and i asked for a discount  (if you don't ask!!) he gave me 10% :D so i’m up to my eyeballs in the dash at the w/end changing bulbs, sensors, and looking for very big mosquitoes!!

Anyone got a large mosquito net i cant find the part number??
