I was always told to leave EGR's in place buddy which is why i never removed mine. Obviously less to go wrong on the pre EGR models too. I am not after speed these days. Just reliability and decent MPG on a long run. I only poodle at about 65 now on the motorways with cruise control on.I can say if looked after and oil is changed regularly (as it should be) as with all diesels it's very important to do that, I recommend it, its no V8, but then if that's what you want you would buy that and not a derv right? They are bombproof, you can get EGR removal blanking kits for £40, but I don't know if they recommended or not, if you fit one it stops hesitation and a flat spots and other clams, I don't know if its true or hipe
