Ha I knew it!!!
I'm going to sacrifice a 30 mm spanner,
I'm going to cut down to see if I can get the ring end in and weld the open end to a socket see if I can get in.

Seems a shame to cut up perfectly good and entirely innocent spanners. Just buy a 30mm crow's foot. There are a few on Ebay reasonably priced.
