White spirit works fine to dilute Waxoyl for spraying - just make sure all your pipes etc are warm and that the schultz can has stood any warm water for a good 20 mins - especially this time of year!
I had a waxoyl disater 3 week's back. Thinned it 50/50 with white spirit, warmed in a saucepan of water for 20 mins or so. Connected all up to the air compressor, put tubing into bulkhead, squeezed trigger, waxoyl solidified in the tube and the pressure blew the schultz can off the gun and a cloud of hot waxoyl covered the Landy, drive and me!
Water now beads wonderfully on the bonnet
For the second attempt, I warmed the tubes in a sink of hot water!
Oh, and if you do get covered in waxoyl, don't wash your clothes in the washing machine - I did and ended up buying the missus a new one as everything afterwards came out smelling of white spirit:doh:
What should have been a 10 min £15 job ended up taking half a day and costing over £600
