90 Petrol to 200tdi Defender loom

Evening all,

Have to ask as I don't have a bloody clue

Can I use my current/old main petrol loom/harness with My Defender 200tdi engine I'm soon to install. The 200tdi has the engine loom/harness so hoping all ok?

,not difficult to modify ,coil feed becomes pump solenoid feed and other wires do as they did may need lengthening

wot he sed ^^^^.. is the Alternator plug the same?

Not sure re alternator plug, its been stored in our lock up since I collected it last week. Im hopefully gonna have time to get down there tomorrow and see whats what. Has anyone here done a petrol 90 to "defender" 200tdi conversion as I'm deffo looking for some pointers

Thats good to hear, mechanical side seems straight forward enough but its always good to get input and advice from others as I do sometimes have a habit of putting a foot wrong and losing my patience :doh:

i just changed mine from a 2.25 petrol, its mostly the same as the td but the exhaust needs changing and you have to mod the flywheel housing you cant use the petrol one. you might need to change your battery and starter cables.

i just wish i had brought a complete doner vehicle and not just an engine

mine is not quite finished, i have started it a couple of times but it still doesn't have a complete exhaust and i broke the rad so need to replace that now
