I've got some 88 sides to fit on my 110 csw

The 110 utility has flat sides going up to the door, whilst the 88 has a vertical upright bit just behind the door seal that looks to be glued (?) on.

Despite looking at loads of forum posts on this, noone seems to mention this strip? There's loads of talk of trimming the door seal strip etc and i understand that, but what is the situation with this vertical bit?

I'll try and find some photos but I'm just on my phone at the moment so that may not be so easy...

So this is the bit i mean -

Im not bothered about keeping them, but its just that ive never seen them mentioned previously on all the threads ive looked at, which is confusing to me!

Thankyou

I have a couple of sets of series side panels with this strip & they both differ from one another in some small way & my early 90 has them. The ones i have are sharply folded alloy with cut-outs on the inner face for tiny threaded captive bolts that are welded to a thin metal strip that runs from top to bottom & are slipped inside the folded alloy & poke through holes in the side panel & fitted with penny washers. Mine were pretty rusty but were cleaned & waxed before being re-fitted. I've never really understood their purpose, especially as later Landys did not have them fitted, but I like the look of them.
