I managed a bit of tinkering today before watching England embarrass themselves in Ireland.
I picked up a replacement set of seats from paddocks that are for the series III but fit straight into the military seat frames. Frames came out, wire brush on the drill and a coat of hammerite had them looking like new, and seats fitted. Looks a lot better now than ripped originals, plus I now have head rests! Much softer than radio dexion.
One nice and easy job was fitting the diff guards - gentle persuasion with a rubber mallet seated them nicely.
One more decal added next to the tyre pressure stencil..
And then the final job was fitting the pick axe head mount to the front bumper.
I know that the standard front mount is on top of the wing, but this mount does also have a military pedigree as seen here:
