a lot do, they rust in all the normal range rover places, always leaking from the pump and the form accelerates the rust, the early ones have non standard size doors makes repairing them a bitch

That's interesting, I've read that in 1979 LR Special products worked with Reynolds Boughton to develop a 6x6 version, but no info. as to how drive to the trailing axle was achieved.
Back in the days when my hobby was ex. US military vehicles some owners of the GMC 6x6 removed the prop .linking the rear axles & sometimes even the front prop. as well. Great until you were camping in a field & it rained
