no all airfield fire trucks have to be all wheel drive, so tacr2's were all produced as 6x6, my one is actually a riv but looks much the same as a tacr2, they are often converted to 6x4 in civi street to save wear on the centre tyres

That's interesting, I've read that in 1979 LR Special products worked with Reynolds Boughton to develop a 6x6 version, but no info. as to how drive to the trailing axle was achieved.
Back in the days when my hobby was ex. US military vehicles some owners of the GMC 6x6 removed the prop .linking the rear axles & sometimes even the front prop. as well. Great until you were camping in a field & it rained :rolleyes:
