60mph top speed

thats what i thought there must be something wrong!! help!?!?
its just had a new head gasket at 135000 miles and ive done 800 miles since that. cheers

Hi Mudplugger,
There are several threads around that discuss the reducing performance you get, particularly in the 200/300 tdi engines when the intake system gets clogged up with crap that's been sucked in as part of the emissions control. (e.g. oil mist out of the engine rocker cover etc.)

The suggestion is clean out all the pipework all the way from the air filter box through to the engine, especially important is to wash the intercooler out with petrol / kerosene. Make sure it has dried out before refitting.

If you've been wading make sure the cooling fins of the intercooler and rad are clear of all dried mud and crap.

Make sure there are no leaks in the hoses.

Give it a whirl...
