6.2 gmc fitting in disco 1

hi everyone. looking at fitting a 6.2 gmc diesel into my disco. has anyone done this and know what parts i would need. friend has one for sale and it already has a range rover 4 speed auto fitted. but it is not in the car, so i need to know what else i need.

not sure what it came out of. seems when i have been looking out for them there are plenty of american vans and cars that has had this engine in

Contact Brian at [email protected] He has a 6.2 GM V8 and GM auto box in his Disco I and has fitted the same kit to a couple of Defenders. See web site in my signature.

If you do this conversion,run a small amount of 2 stroke oil in the diesel,the Stanadyne injector pump is a small unit working very hard - the extra lube makes it last alot longer.

standyne ip's are notorious fer packing up, you need to respect em, american derv has a higher oil content than ours so like 8 says put a drop of 2 stroke in the fooker
