The wording is as follows:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Recognise that many vehicles polute, not just a particular kind of vehicle.
It would seem to be a popular myth that all 4x4s are polluting. There is an increasing clamour from bigots to ban some cars simply because they are designed with 'all wheel drive'. In itself a vehicle transmission system can not be bad for the environment. Many 4x4s are capable of extremely good fuel consumption. Also, many other different type of vehicle produce high emissions.
The period of the petition is 7 months, which should bring it into line with the begining of March and the budget.
