I like my old ford posters and magazines and trip to santa pod once a year with wad of cash and tow rope but always coming home with only the car I went in cus they're all too expensive.
Do you look at rst's on eBay? A bloke down south somewhere sold two in bits the other week (series 2's not 1 like yours) for about 2.5k. Couldn't believe it, me and my brother were just about to bid 6k for em but he ended early

Yes, Rog in 'max power' (remember that? Nurse jakki!!! Pink or brown? On the pull) had a green one, did they do a 309 gti aswell?

The 309 GTi was actually very underrated, some say a better car than the 205.

RS's are fetching mad money now, the biggest problem being people thinking their million mile thrashed to shit pile of crap being worth monster money. Not so. Good cars fetch strong money, but there are waaay more old sheds out there than good honest cars in what is generally accepted as being 'clean' or minters.

Yeah I know what you mean, A mate just a couple of months ago got rid of his s2, after spending a fair chunk on it trying to get it running properly, with a couple of 'specialist' garages, it was still running rough afterwards, but fast. The body was terrible though, full of bodge and the boot floor was bad, and behind the arch spats. Wouldn't say how much he got for it. Standing looking into the bonnet while it was ticking over it gave off so much heat, I've never known anything like it, don't think it would have lasted too many quarter miles.

Unfortunately that's what alot of them today are like.

Mechanically they're relatively easy to maintain, but bodywork on alot of them is atrocious and that's where the money needs to be spent. A lot today are very fast old nails....
