the longer you stay the more you pay, all you got to do is keep paying your NI contributions and you still get your NHS, pension etc.

i lived in south of france for a few years only came home cos off ill health wish i could get better and go back told you i was still ranting lol

I quit the UK for the reasons described by Gav & others and now live in France where the pension goes further (no road tax for a start)

Why go back for ill health? the health service here is one of the best in the world. No 3 month wait to see a specialist for suspected bowel cancer, phone at 08:30, in at 10:30.:D

Poitiers La Rochelle area, about 300Km north of Bordeaux, great climate nice countryside no violence, I could go on and on:D:D:D My French is basic but enough and my partner (female) is French so that helps.
I have lived in Africa and Germany but don't want to be too far from my kids and granchildren these days:D:D:D

could,nt agree more about climate etc, we used to drive down, 19hrs inc ferry from cheshire, french payage roads were wicked, 100mph with twin axle trailer no probs!!

not sure about living amognst surrender monkeys???

Ah thats a popular myth started by the Yanks who also seem to forget that we were involved in the war in their version of history. True the French capitulated against the superior strength of the German forces, but they did not stop fighting. We would have been unlikely to have defeated the Germans when we did without their aid.

The upside is that in this area the French are well disposed towards the English for helping them in 2 world wars. You could not wish to meet friendlier or more helpful folk.

i did, ive put it on watch, wil prolly contact him at weekend, on nights this week!!!

to be honest i couldnt care less about the war, these days although gratefull i'm not speaking german, its old news!! they have disected the war years on discovery so much that no person who died has any respect or dignity left!!!

i would like to have been a fly on the wall tho during that time or to go back in time as an observer only and feel the emotions of the people caught up in the fighting and invasions.

i have played a game called silent hunter 3 for many hours, sometimes days. commanding a u boat in those days must have been an intense job!!!
