feuk me!!..just put it in!!!only takes an hour to remove if faulty!!

amount of faffing around making rig/rad/gauges/exhaust/electrics..blah blah blah will far out weigh time in pulling out if it does leak (oil seal)..and if it dont then you saved sheds loads of time!!

anyway..it aint gonna leak!!think positive!

ha ha zen, not sure ill do it in an hour but like you say lets hope I dont have too anyway :)

man it seems like so long, lets hope the headers clear in that case the engine may well be built this week and just waiting on the gearbox from mr martin.

zen how sure are you that that od was good and doesnt leak?

mr martin.

dont remember now..was yrs ago!!wernt it??

but it ad new seals etc...so still kinda sure its ok..thats as far as LR stuff dont leak that is!!as for good...yes it was good, rebuilt by owner of indy LR place near me..i saw the bill of parts..(he fitted r380 in the end..)

nope..only used it for a wee while..cos its crap..along with the lt95..

we all seem to come back to them :p

Hows yours running now mark?

Yea all good... runs like a dream, apart from a weird cutting out I'm chasing.. think I've managed to pin it down to filling up!? seems once its got a full tank it cuts out under power.. weird.

Think it might be the fuel return backing up in the swirl pot as there is to much petrol.

so loctite on the inlet manifold and front cover bolts gents?

is there a specific order to torque up the inlet manifold bolts? any tips for fitting these two, the sump and oil pick up? I am going to try and get them in tonight.

It looked odd there were fittings for the oil pick up on the rear main cap and then middle main cap- wonder why?

this is the gm pattern, would assume most V8's would be similar

center out and go over bolts at least twice the center bolts will be less tight by the time you do the outer bolts

Thanks guys, only had time for the front cover in the end, sadly when torquing up the through bolts one of them pushed out the gasket and cracked the corner on the brand new waterpump- but of a shame as it was a NOS one and all fitted and laquered :(

I am going to see if I can get it welded where I used to work, bit of a delay and fecker though- was using a torque wrench too
