Well, I just finished piecing together the 4.0 in my disco after replacing the head gaskets. To my surprise the old whore fired right up after bleeding the fuel lines.
Though, she's far from without issue and I was hoping to get some advice to expedite my troubleshooting.
#1: Its running rough with slight lope and the check engine light is on. I'm 90% sure sure on my wiring with that 10% of doubt on the injector plugs. There isn't a large loss in power, the vehicle is able to move itself without trouble.
#2: Despite what the temp gauge says, it feels like its running hot. I filled the rad with water just to test as I am planning on doing a full flush and replacement as soon as I get it running a little smoother and any leaks fixed. The thermostat fell out on me when I took the elbow thing off, I placed it back with the spring facing inward and the flat side with the word "TOP" on the outside(should have replaced it, but I didn't). I assume that'ss the correct direction.
