Hello everyone,
Slight worry is this new light vibration coming from my engine its a 300 tdi and its been really good on long and short trips but just lately it seems to have lost its smoothness and power, and starting at about 40mph there seems to be this vibration coming from the engine, you can feel it through the pedals, you know the kind that makes your feet itch, i changed the viscous coupling and the belt tensioner and the cam belt and idler were done before this reared its head, ive looked at just about everything but just cant pin it down hope you can help regards billy.:confused:
 
are you sure its engine and not tyres ,uj,rubber doughnut on rearprop etc,have a look at front crank pulley while some one revs engine ,is there smoke with the loss of power ,
 
wondering if down on power was timing belt slipping a tooth or injector failing etc ,was it imediate after cam belt change
 
no it was'nt immediate, done about 5000 miles on new belt just cant quite put finger on it , but used to be able to slightly hear the turbo doing its stuff under load but not now, so took hose off and could feel some pressure from turbo outlet so assumed it to be ok, then undid injector fuel lines one by one while engine running and all had similar effect so just wondering could the injector pump be playing up? kind of lost confidence in the lump right now.
 
pipe from turbo to boost diaphram on pump okay ,you should feel turbo boost if you rev engine at pump while squeezing top intercooler hose
 
hello again , checked turbo boost ,checked diaphram, undid pipe from diaphram to turbo and ran engine but could'nt feel much in the way of vacuum or pressure coming from it so dont know if ok or not ? anyone!...may check timing next will update, ta.
