300tdi pump and turbo

Hi all my turbo went on my 300 2 week ago now I have replaced it with a good secondhand one and now its still blowing large amounts of blue/black smoke out could this be if the pump has been tweaked in the past before I bought it also its had a alisport intercooler fitted and was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why thanks

hard to say, but it could still have oil in the system if by went you mean the oil seals went.

ali intercooler probably means the pumps been tweaked.

i'd take the intercooler off and the hoses and clean any oil out.

If its got an alisport fitted more than likely pump has been tweaked as alisport is hell of alot better at cooling.

Hi thanks for the reply yes it went by way of seal going and a large amount of play in the turbo what would be best to clean the intercooler out im a bit of a mechanical novice and just getting used to it all and thanks again

I have done mine with petrol but if you do that make sure u let it completely dry out before you re install.

i stuck petrol in, swilled it about a bit and chucked it in a bucket, then stuck a hose in for 5-10 mins until clear and left for a few hours to dry.. i'll be fiine

Yes a day is fine and funny enough I done exactly what trax did.
