could someone tell me the revs a 300tdi auto will reach in full kick down, thanks in advance.

Assuming it is in good condition, you can find out easily what the maximum engine speed is.

This is set inside the injection pump which will back the fuel supply off as the engine speed reaches the pre-set limit, and the engine will run flat out at its maximum, and you note the RPM on the tacho.

You can do this in neutral sitting in the driveway. The neighbours will think you are mad because it sounds really crazy loud, but no louder than going flat out in 3rd to pass a Ferrari on the M1. Running any diesel at max revs should do no harm.

Let the engine speed rise quite slowly though. If you just slam the gas pedal to the floor there is a small risk the engine might overspeed, which may enable you to see one or two conrods sooner than you expected.

nah mot doozel emitions test is idle to flatout 3 or 4 times(providing it passes) have you checked the kickdown cable?
