300Tdi having hick ups

Introduced myself some days ago as proud owner of 1195 110 300Tdi was hoping not to be so soon in this section

Engine starts up fine and when running idle no issues at all

When driving however the engine has some hick-ups. Suddenly loses power. When pressing clutch and revving few times it runs again

Couple of days ago it stalled and no way to get it going again - had to manually pump the fuel pump couple of times and then it went as nice as ever.

2 months ago - before i bought it - the fuel thank was removed to replace the rear X-member.
Could this play a roll, like dirt in the lines - or taking in air?

id have a look at rear tank /pipes ,lift pump etc clear plastic pipe in between filter and front banjo bolt on injection pump is good way of seeing good clean airless fuel is reaching injector pump

For those interested, finally found the issue, it was something wrong with the electric feed to the stop solenoid
Dealer changed it and it is running smoothly again
