Yep, the "chief engineer" got himself banned so the thread slowly slipped into obscurity until you pulled it back.Stumbled across this tread last week, has it now gone quiet ?

No it's not gone quiet, we're still awaiting an earth shattering announcement regarding 15000 bhp from a Honda 90
Not strictly true. When I was into my renaults I got 296bhp out of the 1400cc r5 turbo when everyone else dropped in the 1.9 so it can work both ways.
Im no cock mate just wanted to have a chat you should look at other peoples attitudes Ive met some good lads on here Im not here to make enemies.
Cant understand why people get mardy when someone states they have done something they havnt been able to. Its not a war just chill.

ive just fitted a hybrid turbo on my 200tdi, its a lot quicker now with less lag, the turbo manufacturer reckons it will add around a 40% increase in power, reasonably expensive but the original one wanted a rebuild anyway
That does not really work a turbo cant really do more power with less lag !

and a partridge in a pear tree.....
believe you can, using lighter better materials the turbo spins easier, is able to cope with more boost so kicks in sooner, it has a aluminium billet compressor wheel and exhaust side, a 360 degree thrust bearing and a turbosmart actuator set at a moddest 1.5 bar
Be real how many turbo rebuilders will fit a billet wheel to a land rover turbo !
hybrid turbo with a bigger compressor wheel = more lag !
Cut back turbine wheel= more lag !
Yes if your old turbo was dead it may have less lag now but like for like on a good standard turbo it cant spool up faster and flow more .
dont class your rebuilders with mine, I can assure you I had a billet wheel fitted, If your to tight to pay for one thats your problem,
and I can only comment on mine, its certianly better than before, and easily keeps up with my son's 1.9 fiat doblo multijet, and there quite nippy
Large amounts of this
not the J35's though
Did lots of work on Typhoon, Astute, type 45, lots of mining equipment, conveying systems, minelaying kit, depth charge deployment systems,
Now I work in the nuclear industry.
Custom motorbike work is easy, and more art than engineering, its cutting fancy shapes, painting etc etc. Stuff thats pretty much irrelevant in this argument."
lol all joking aside i actually built this ship, well sections of it that were built in portsmouth docks.

For someone who claims to have no clue on a computer, the replies and quotes are coming thick and fast
The thing is I have replied to you at least twice saying reread your own replies to people and see it through their eyes and ask yourself do I sound a ####?
This thread will soon die as people are going to give up on you even though many have offered good advice, but will forever come up on a google search for 300 tdi tuning!
You wont fail the emissions.Update - Twisted also did the EGR blanking too during my upgrade. De-cat of the pipes is inexpensive, but also makes your Defender fail its MOT on emissions, so I won't be doing this anyway. Sad times.
Just read the whole thread, quite interesting really. God, am I sad or what? its new years eve ffs.
