300tdi auto

questioning anyone with a 300tdi auto.i am not sure if torque converter is locking up properly.was wondering what other members rpm's are at 60mph or 100kph.mine are at about 2250 at 100kph.on my dodge cummins I can feel lock up easily,but this zf I am not able to feel it.

That is bout right.mines is at 2500 ish at 70.

My old disco used to lock at 48mph - you could just feel it

300tdi auto should be 52 I think. It's a subtle difference but you should feel it. Give it gentle throttle over and underv 52mph and you should feel it. Revs sound correct at 2250 at 60mph.

Your revs sound about right. Daz, your Disco seems to have locked up quite early?

Well it locked up at 48mph checked by satnav - thought that was quite normal , approx 50mph

you could always give it some welly from 30 n when it locks you should defo feel it.

Also around 52mph indicated on a V8 auto also, and then dropping out when speed drops to around 48mph.

It depends on what you are doing staying at 50 or moving on there's no lockup when accelerating past the 50s, lockup only comes in when u ease off and that could be 100mph with a V8 although IIRC Rave states lockup cuts in the lower 90s.

What you are actually feeling is the direct drive clutch and 4th gear engaging, engine speed should drop by aprox 500rpm according the W manual.
