300tdi alternator

Hi all

Help needed yet again, my alternator has seized on my disco.
It's a 300tdi 1996, anyone know where to get one from? I've tried fleabay and paddocks(not heard good reports about paddocks alternators?).
Ebays the best so far £89 for a 100amp.
Also whats the best amp to get I was thinking 100amp is best?

Get a 100A one, they are the same size. Get the best you can afford. Cheap=****e in my experience with alternators. Had a faulty one straight out the box. And my £150 one is noisy already in under a year (although it got a bit wet).

An overhauled genuine Magnetti Marelli is a good bet, or one with a short warranty from a breaker, as long as its a genuine LR part. They are £450 new. I would avoid the cheap ebay ones.

You can get a Lucas or RTX one cheap enough and try are good, a genuine one is overpriced in my opinion. We fit alot of 'cheap' ones and never really have issues with them, you can always get faulty ones with any make but it's a rarity with alternators in my experience. I wall say theres cheap and then there is Chinese copy cheap so be aware, make sure it's a reputable branded one
